A superzoom with a remarkable zoom range of 16.6x and equivalent focal length range of 27-450mm, this lens can cover just about any focal length most photographers would need, aside from very wide angles. Like any superzoom, however, you should not expect top-level image quality, though it is quite impressive to see what Tamron has managed to do with this option, particularly at its price level. And of course, such a lens is not about top-shelf image quality, but rather the convenience of having such a huge range available.
