A Look at the Most Important Tools in Lightroom for Editing Your Photos

Lightroom has a lot of tools and features for editing your photos, but there are some that you will use over and over, no matter what genres you shoot. This excellent video tutorial discusses some of the most fundamental editing tools in the program, what they are useful for, and how to employ them for your own work.

Coming to you from James Popsys, this great video tutorial will show you some of the most important editing tools in Lightroom and how to use them for your own work. My personal favorite is the radial filter tool. I use it for almost every photo I take, whether a portrait, concert photo, landscapes, or more. Your eye is naturally drawn to the brightest part of the image, so creating mild vignettes around your subject is an easy and extremely efficient way to draw attention to the right parts of the frame. Though Lightroom has a built-in vignette tool, I prefer using the radial filter as it allows you to place it anywhere, instead of just dead-center. The key is to remember that less is more and to use a soft feather, as it will make the transition imperceptible. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Popsys.
